The undisputed fact is when Jesus gives you Joy, He gives it totally, permanently, absolutely.
Let’s consider the widow of Nain (Luke 7:11-17), her hopes were shattered- I mean, how hopeless was that situation- her son was dead- by human standard that’s final- the end. The bitterness in her heart must have been immense. Without notice, by chance, she met with one for whom nothing is impossible and just like that He changed the situation. One minute she was feeling dejected the next she felt joy.
The man at the Pool of Bethesda (John 5: 1-15) had infirmities 38 years. He’s been waiting for his miracle for too many years, that when he was asked if he wanted to be healed, he was too focused on all his past failures to answer the question affirmatively. Jesus spoke the words of victory into his life and he received his healing. What he has waited for many years, he received in minutes. He was at the pool, with the mindset that the miracle will elude him yet again. But he encountered Jesus and Joy took over the frustrations he’s felt for 38 years.
When Jesus gives joy, it changes the situation- it makes a glum situation bright. Nothing, No one can give Joy the way Jesus gives it. His joy opens up and permeates your being.
